Guy Mathys

Guy is a dedicated researcher at the Brussels Entrepreneurship & Innovation Lab (Business Development Academy), where he applies Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to uncover insights and trends in textual data. His research focuses on analyzing annual reports to enhance transparency, accountability, and sustainability in corporate disclosures. By extracting and interpreting meaningful patterns from financial texts, he aims to support stakeholders in accessing reliable and actionable information. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics and a Master’s in Tax and Accounting Research, complemented by specializations in Deep Learning, Applied Data Science with Python, and broader Data Science. His expertise also includes Data Warehousing with SAP BW, enabling him to manage and analyze large-scale business data systems. Prior to fully transitioning into research, he worked as an Enterprise Intelligence Advisor and as a Chartered External Accountant, roles in which he combined financial expertise with data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
